City of My Death plays original, melody-driven guitar rock. From garage to punk, psychedelic to classic rock, and blues to folk, their influences are deep and storied. This dedicated trio has lots of new material for 2024, including a new single “One Zen Moment” released in late April, and an EP coming later in the year. COMD's debut album "This Modern Age" was released on July 7, 2023, with a limited edition pressing on vinyl, and has received local and national radio airplay. More than a studio band, these three love to deliver the rock and roll goods to a live audience whenever they get a chance.
COMD is the creation of New Mexico musicians Ken Maestas (drums), Noelle Graney (bass), and Dru Vaughter (guitar). The group hails from both Albuquerque and Santa Fe, with a practice space in each city. Noelle and Dru share past membership in the once magnificent Alien Space Kitchen, and Ken has played in numerous bands including the blistering Dildon’ts and Voodoo Junkies.
Influences:
Dru: Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, The Replacements, The Breeders, X, Nirvana
Ken: Thin Lizzy, MC5, New York Dolls, The Carpenters
Noelle: Love, The Gun Club, Alice Coltrane
